Evelyn Alsultany, Associate Professor of American Culture and Director of Arab and Muslim American Studies at the University of Michigan, will be visiting UVa on April 20. She will giving two presentations:
- A large public lecture from 3:30-5pm in Minor 125, entitled “Arabs and Muslims in the Media after 9/11: Patriotic Arab Americans, Oppressed Muslim Women, and Sympathetic Feelings”
- A smaller lunchtime research talk from 12-1:30pm in New Cabell 236, entitled “Understanding the recent rise in Islamophobia”
